CPRE Norfolk Nature Day in Massingham
CPRE Norfolk will be hosting its first ever Norfolk Nature Day in Massingham, West Norfolk, on the 15th October.
The event, open to both members and non-members, will celebrate the importance of community-led wilding, and introduce some of CPRE Norfolk’s key areas of focus over the coming year.
Kicking off the talks at Little Massingham House will be President of CPRE Norfolk, Professor Tim O’Riordan.
He’ll be followed by a talk about moths (including a humane moth-trap reveal) by Tim Baldwin of the Massingham Biodiversity Project, who will after lunch also be showing attendees around the Massingham Biodiversity Project.
Local landowner Olly Birkbeck will also be giving a tour of his 500-acre open-access re-wilded heathland so please bring sturdy boots and wet weather gear.
The event will be concluded with a talk by Andy Miller from Natural England on Nature Recovery Networks.
Lunch is not provided, but please feel free to bring a packed lunch or cakes / savoury snacks for the group. The village shop on the green also provides a great selection of filled rolls and sandwiches.
CPRE Norfolk members attending, and guests who sign up on the day for a 12-month membership, will be entered into a prize draw to win lunch for two and a re-wilding tour of Fritton Lake.
